Malaysian gov’t officer Zamihan label Christians as infidels

ICC Note: A parliament member of Democratic Action Party in Malaysia, Lim Lip Eng, has lodged a police report against Malaysian Islamic Development Department officer Zamihan Mat Zin for labelling Christian as infidels. Mr. Zamihan already has a history of targeting Christians and accusing them of being infidels. If convicted under Section 298A of the Penal Code Act, Mr. Zamihan’s could spend between 2 and 5 years in prison.

10/12/2017 Malaysia (Free Malaysia Today) – DAP Segambut MP Lim Lip Eng has lodged a police report against Malaysian Islamic Development Department (Jakim) officer Zamihan Mat Zin for labelling Christian as infidels and Malaysian Chinese as unclean.

Lim said the accusations by Zamihan could damage racial harmony besides humiliating the non-Muslims.

Quoting a report in The Star, he said Zamihan had a history of targeting Christians and moderate Muslims, accusing them of being infidels and apostates.

“His accusations are very serious,” he told reporters after making his report at the Dang Wangi police station today.

He urged the police to investigate Zamihan, who is also president of the Ahli Sunnah Wal Jamaah, under Section 298A of the Penal Code Act which provides for a minimum jail sentence of two years and a maximum of five years.

Zamihan was arrested by the police yesterday and remanded for two days from today for investigation under the Sedition Act over a talk he gave at a mosque in Shah Alam last Sunday.
