What’s In July?
We all have weaknesses. Even those of us who have matured in certain areas can certainly be penalized for our lack of growh in others. The biggest mistake can be made when you don’t see yourself clearly. It is as if you look at your fenced environment, lined by healthy trees, but you simply don’t notice the tree that is dying or never grrew in quite right, or worst of all was never planted and now it is evident that there is a blatant gap and something must be done.
How gracious a good friend is who tells you what you don’t want to hear. Generally it is a friend who has seen you destroyed perhaps once or twice before and doesn’t want to see your adversary come through the gap…again!
The friend tells you that you aren’t growing and that you are still under-developed in a certain area and now stand defenceless against your adversary. They remember the pains you’ve gone through as if they were there with you. Sometimes it takes brutal honesty that pierces you right through the heart. But then you find that the piercing also killed the adversary who was attached to you. You finally learned how to repair and replace insufficiently protected areas, simply by…listening.
