2009/2010 Theme- Eighth; The Day of Revelation

Romans 2:29

“But he who is a Jew is one inwardly and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter, whose praise is not of men, but of God.”

II.(Iyar- April/May) The Perfect Operation; Offer The Lord What He Won’t Refuse

Philipians 3:14

“I press towards the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus”

In order to be circumcised, you have to be resolved. You must make up your mind that you are ready to be cut, no matter how deep, in order to get out what no longer belongs in the body. This requires the ability to see and acknowledge areas of sin. These are areas of infection that must be dealt with. It also requires the releasing of those things that are not for us and do not belong to us. They are required as sacrifices. We have to admit that God knows what is best and we must honor his judgment. Lastly, it requires for us to willingly lay anything and everything on the altar when he asks for it; even when we think better of it. A circumcision goes well when the individual is completely relaxed and surrenders to the cut, trusting the hand that holds the knife.
